This has been the official residence of the President of France since 1848. The palace has a glorious history: it was offered to the Marquise de Pompadour, mistress of Louis XV. Napoleon III also lived here.
The Grand Palais
Let yourself be tempted by a visit to the Grand Palais, about ten minutes from our boutique hotel in the 8th arrondissement. The Grand Palais is located along the Champs-Elysees, opposite the Petit Palais. Classed as an historical monument in 2000, it frequently hosts salons and prestigious exhibitions in a spacious 72,000 square meters.
The Church of the Madeleine
Just 500 metres from the Hôtel du Ministère, stop at the Church of the Madeleine, a magnificent neoclassical temple erected to the glory of the Grand Army of Napoleon. Recognisable from its octagonal portico on the façade, it clearly gives the impression of a temple. The Madeleine is a church that gives its name to a district between the Grands Magasins and the Opéra Garnier.
The Musée d’Orsay
Approximately 10 minutes by car from our hotel, the Musée d’Orsay is housed in the former Orsay rail station. It is home to the largest collection of Impressionist works in the world together with masterpieces of painting and sculpture.
